Orange Energizer Smoothie

oesIt’s crunch time! If you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping and other prep, you better get busy! You probably have some long days ahead of you with baking and wrapping and all the other stuff that goes into making your ideal Christmas.

Where will you find the energy to get everything done? Right here, my friend, in this Orange Energizer Smoothie. Chock full of fiber, protein, calcium and vitamin C, it will keep you charged to last all day and into the wee hours of the night! You can bake, wrap, address cards, and sing carols all at one time. This smoothie has everything you need to combat the craziness of the season.

Orange Energizer Smoothie
1 orange, peeled and sectioned
1/2 cup nonfat yogurt
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 scoop (about 1 heaping tablespoon) of vanilla whey protein powder
4-5 pieces of ice

1. Put everything into a blender in the order above.
2. Blend on low, slowly increasing the speed until the smoothie reaches the consistency you like.
3. Serve!

As you can see, I had this one to go. It was my breakfast yesterday, and boy was it good. It was refreshing and filling and kept me satisfied enough so I didn’t gorge myself at my work potluck.

If you wanted, you could add a little shredded zucchini to this, or a squeeze of lime. Any way you make it, it will keep you going so you can get things done!
